Biomass.

By processing non-recyclable wood waste, we are not just solving a waste management problem, we are also generating green power and heat in a sustainable way. As the final link in the lifecycle of non-recyclable wood waste, biomass serves as a great example of the circular economy.

Sustainable processing of wood waste

Together with Unilin, Aspiravi has built two power plants that convert non-recyclable wood waste into green electricity and heat. That way, we’re closing the circle in Wielsbeke and Oostrozebeke by making sure that this resource for the production of renewable energy doesn’t go to waste. The green electricity and heat we produce is supplied to businesses in the area and the mains grid.
