Green energy from and for people
Aspiravi has a unique participatory structure. Municipalities and citizens help shape our renewable energy projects.
Our dual participatory approach
Since 2002, we have been pioneering renewable energy with the support of local shareholders. Municipalities and residents are also investing in the project.
88
municipal shareholders
Our municipal shareholders are organized through the regional holding companies Creativ, EFin, Fineg, and Nuhma. Together with VEH, they represent 88 Belgian cities and municipalities.
13.000
citizen-cooperators
More than 13,000 Belgians are investing in our onshore wind energy projects.
Local residents have the opportunity to invest in local energy production and share in the returns. This helps us build support for renewable energy.
Sustainability isn’t just about our renewable energy; it’s also about our collaboration with local governments and residents. This is how the value of our projects flows back into society.

Green energy for cooperative members
Since 2015, Aspiravi Energy has been supplying locally produced electricity to citizen cooperative members.
Anyone who owns four shares through a cooperative can have their home supplied with local green electricity.
For every megawatt-hour consumed, a contribution goes to social projects that combat energy poverty and child poverty.
Together, we’re making the energy transition a reality.
Through local engagement and citizen participation, renewable energy remains close to people.
